DeNOx installation project in Mayotte
A turnkey project for green electricity in Mayotte
Project challenges
Electricité de Mayotte (EDM) is meeting environmental standards with the denitrification of fumes from its Badamiers power plant. This is a major project for EDM, since by purifying the exhaust fumes, they are able to offer their customers decarbonized, solidarity-based solutions.
To produce this greener electricity, with a significant reduction in the nitrogen oxides emitted into the atmosphere, EDM has chosen to install a DeNOx installation, with urea sprayed into the exhaust gases as they leave the engines, before entering a catalytic converter and then the chimney.
To renovate its plant, EDM was looking for a reliable, expert industrial partner capable of effectively managing this environmentally-friendly, sustainable development project.
Eiffage Métal's involvement in the project
Eiffage Métal, in a consortium with Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, took charge of the complete management of this turnkey project, including civil engineering work, dismantling of the existing plant, installation of equipment and piping, electrical installations and control systems, as well as modifications and extension of the maintenance room.
The Badamiers project has been a success, setting a benchmark for a turnkey project with high environmental value, built far from the metropolis. The main challenge was to carry out the work on the plant while it was still in operation.
