The first tunnel boring machine for the Line 15 East-1 project has been named Rita!
In Bobigny on Monday, May 11, in the presence of Stéphane Troussel, Laurent Simplicien, Abdel Sadi, Stephen Hervé, Jean-François Monteils, and Guillaume Sauvé, the name of the first tunnel boring machine was unveiled.
It is named after its sponsor, Rita Ayoub, a design engineer on the COREA project at Eiffage Génie Civil.
The tunnel boring machine will soon begin excavation from the Normandie Niémen structure in Bobigny (93) along a 5.2-kilometer stretch to the Marcel Dassault structure in Bondy (93).
The Line 15 East-1 Project
This project is part of the contract awarded to Eiffage for the design and construction of the section of the future Line 15 between Bobigny and Champigny-sur-Marne (94), commissioned by the Société des Grands Projets as part of the Grand Paris Express.
A major project that draws on the full range of expertise within the Eiffage Group.
- Eiffage Génie Civil, the project lead, is responsible for excavating 17 km of tunnel, constructing 6 new stations, 15 service structures, and 2 tunnel portal structures, as well as the Rosny operations center.
- Eiffage Construction is responsible for the infrastructure and ancillary works.
- Eiffage Énergie Systèmes is responsible for the electrical installations, high- and low-voltage systems, and electromechanical equipment.
- Eiffage Rail is responsible for laying the tracks.
Beyond the technical challenge, this project illustrates the collective strength of the Eiffage Group and its ability to combine engineering, innovation, and environmental performance to build the mobility solutions of tomorrow.
